Got the head off the motor and it aint pretty
For those that didn't catch the earlier post.

Looks like the a valve dropped through the head of the piston. Since it imploded at over 100mph it did maximum damage. Yeah, that is part of the valve laying in that hole in the piston.

I'd guess this head is also toast although maybe the valves can be saved.

Any guesses as to what could have caused the failure?? Bottom of a spark plug fall off? Valve failure? Detonation? Just being too lean and/or hot?

Whatever it was started in #2. The 'particles' can go from cylinder to cyl. .. more
What I can see on 1 and 3 looks like extreme detonation. #2 looks like chunks chewed it up. I would look to see if a major fuel component failed. What RPM range were you running in? Speed doesnt matter, but the rpm range may. The dropped valve in #2 did most of the damage. Too bad hope you build a good replacement.
