Default Good Aftermarket CD/MP3/Ipod with RED display?

Hey Guys,

Was cruising to work today, and it seems that my current 4-5 year old Kenwood headunit decided to stop playing CD's today entirely.

Was going to do make sure later, but wanted to ask if anyone has any good recommendations for an aftermarket CD/MP3 player with a red display to match the current "All-red" scheme that our car's have?

The Kenwood I have, has a multicolor display, but I set it on it's "red" color setting, and it matched damn near perfect.

So if anyone could offer any suggestions on some good headunits, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

Default Mine won't play CDs if it gets too cold for some reason. After 30 min of driving, it'll

start working again. :P Annoying... I'm going to go over to a thumb-drive based HU next.

Default That's because there's condensation building up on the lens and it takes a little while to

clear out.

Default Well, that's part of the reason. The other is something mechanical... I hear the reader struggling

and things like the disc eject don't work very well. It's quite annoying... Then again, the unit is five years old now.

Default if you want a NAV/Bluetoothphone/CD/Video/iPod/everything player AVIC F700bt

Can be had for alittle over $400 these days. I had the f90bt in my car and it was great. Just not worth the double price of the f700 when u can play videos on ipod without dvd. The matte of the f700 matches audi plastic and with metra dash kit and red buttons it matches very well in the interior.

Default I'd stay away from the empeg unless you are a serious about DIY

A friend of mine has one in his 1995 300ZX and while it's a great media player, it's a dead project. Transferring music to one is also a pain in the ***, the ethernet on it is slow, USB is even slower.. If you are lucky you can find one new-in-box, but they aren't sold retail anymore as far as I know.

Bottom line, if you don't get a hard-on from a rare, embedded Linux device, don't bother.
