Default Timing Belt Problem?

So I fixed my overheating problem and ran into another. While I was test driving down the highway my car all of the sudden lost power and start to putt. When I let of the gas pedel and slowing pushed it in the car ran fine. When I push the gas in to go it does not go nearly as fast as before. It felt like the car was trying to go but did not have enough power. I stopped to check out the engine and nothing appeared to be wrong. When I went again and gave it gas it putted along then I let off and it back fired out the exhaust only once not loud. I took it easy going home and only pushed the gas in slightly and was able to make it. But I am stumped on what it could be.

Is there an easy way to take the timing belt off and re set everything? I looked with no luck.

Could it be anything with the throttle?

What else could it be?

But did you actually check? Codes can appear with or without the MIL.

No I took the car home and took it apart. My timing belt is off. But i didnt know if it could be a fuel filter/timingbelt/throttle.

Im new to doing my own work and bought a haynes book to walk me through.
