Fuel filter change for 2K 1.8tqm..report.
Everything what the tech section said was exactly as it was. Did everything as it stated and it worked out fine. It was quite messy with fuel dripping all over but that was expected.
Did need a hoist for it which I used from a buddies shop but I had to help him with a Lincoln Navigator with a bad alternator. That was not fun
Anyways.. it was a nice 1/2 job.
Blew through the old one and then blew through the new one and it was a difference in night and day.
Thanks guys.

congrats on the install, but dunno about the *******
if you blow through an old filter that has a liquid(gas) soaked paper element, why wouldn't it be harder to blow through compared to a new one that is bone dry inside? am i missing something here?

Re: congrats on the install, but dunno about the *******
Just changed my fuel filter yesterday. I have 61,000 km's (I think that's about 40K miles). The jury seems to still be out on the need to change the fuel filter. Audi will tell you that it's a non-maintenace item. My independent mechanic says change it. I can notice a difference in performance. Not an expensive job - worth it in my case.
