Default Front cam seal leak (cam sprocket side)

I just finished the rather lengthy job of a timing belt, chain tensioner, tensioner seals, and front cam seal replacements. I got everything patched back together, timed just right, and fluid back in the car and now I have a leak from my front cam seal (sprocket side). The position sensor seal is bone dry. Both seals when on while the VC was off and on the same way.

Did I miss something? The tensioner seals are great (where the leak was before).

Is there a way to take the seal out on that side without taking the entire front end apart again? (e.g. loosen the timing belt, take the sprocket off, and remove the seal with a seal puller). Perhaps it is a bad seal!

Very frustrating...

Either the seal is bad, the spring popped off the seal when you installed it, (worst possible case) you scratched the cam when you changed the seal.

All three possibilities require that timing belt removal.

I was using an updated seal (no spring).

I figured the t-belt needed to come off but is there a way to recompress the t-belt tensioner and slip the belt off the top sprocket so I can remove the sprocket and seal?

I noticed when I did mine, that when installing that particular seal, it won't "bottom out", so it can be driven in too far. I'm not sure if that can cause a leak or not, but it might be possible.
