Friend just totaled his B5 S4
The other day my friend totaled his 2001 S4. He has it sitting in his yard now and asked me if I needed anything off his car. Does anyone know if his 01E six speed could be taken off and put on my car (I have a 99.5 1.8tq tip). I just need to know if its anywhere close to possible.

should i yank anything else while i'm at it?
i already got the wheel liners. it's a different color than mine so i couldn't take any body panels but is there anything else that i should try to pull off the car before it hits the junkyard?

It's not a direct bolt on...
but if you scavenge enough parts from his car, I believe you can make it work. Do a search...Yippers and a few others have posted advice on this subject in the past.
I will add...the S4 tranny has fragile synchros. 2nd and 3rd are usually the one's to go. If you've got everything out of the car, you might want to look into replacing the synchros with hardened replacements.

headlights. His side skirts paint them to match or sell them.
Bumper if it isn't damaged. Fog lights maybe? Cd changer if he has one. Grab his spare to sell. If he was willing to let you have the trans basically ask him if you can part the car out. Seats are worth money.

instrument cluster, grille, headlights, fogs, grille inserts, side skirts, radio, tail lights
pretty much make like you live in NJ and found a fresh S4 parked, whatever they usually take (the a-holes)

Tip to 6 speed would be a PROJECT! You'd need harnesses, pedal box assembly, master cyl for the
clutch, the master to slave cylinder plumbing, all the clutch interlock circuitry along with the usual mechancal bit associated with a 5-6 speed swap.
