Default fluid questions...

I am about to leave my car outside, untouched for 4 months so I have been reading about the precautions that I will need to take. I read that i should change my coolant as well as the transmission, transfer case, and differential fluids before leaving her. I have 80,000 miles on the car incase that is relevant.

First, is it necessary to change all of these fluids.
-if so, what coolant should i get, transmition fluid...?

-also, any ideas of a cheap place to get a trickle charger?

Default Just park it.

When you get back, change the oil/filter, and take it for a good run on the highway to burn off any condensation that may have accumulated elsewhere.

Porsche dealer sells inexpensive trickle chargers I believe. I paid $60 or so for some fancy charger from Walmart (of all places). I think you'll get away with 1/2 that amount at the P car dealer (or order from an online Porsche parts supplier).

Default nope.. best to have the tank at it's it's lowest.. add fuel stabilizer

let it run for a bit.. then fill the tank half way.

that way you never have stagnant gas

You want a float charger, not a trickle charger.

Default wow, this sucks. I am getting such mixed opinions on what to do.

In the FAQ i read to fill the tank, put in stabilizer and run it for a couple of min.

also says to connect battery to trickle charger?

who is right?

Default You run the risk of excessive water in the tank with this method.

Full tank with stabilizer ftw. I learned this from many years as a boat owner.

Default This is correct, but you want a battery minder that will turn off

when the battery has a full charge. You don't want to boil off the electrolyte by over charging it.
