Do a search on Extended Auto Warranty Corp. (more)...
I got it after reading some reviews here. Some guys on these forums have used it before and the company does pay out. They sell exclusionary policies (bumper to bumper) that simply state they will cover everything the original manufacturers warranty covers. I like that much more than the ones that list what they cover and than leave you guessing what else may go wrong that is not listed. You can only qualify for the bumber to bumper ones if you tell them you are not past your manufactures warranty (eg, your at 49900miles). They understand if your slightly over whent they send out an inspector. I liked the policy. 7 years or 125,000 miles for around $1900.

it pays to get one before your factory....
warranty expires. They consider your car new at that point. The warranties cost less and are more inclusive at that point. You are also required to have your car inspected if it is out of factory warranty, for modifications that they feel may affect the cars reliability.

Re: extended warranty?
I had a 97 1.8TQ 5 speed w/6 yr/72000 mile extended warranty that I bought with the car. It cost approx. $900 and paid out AT LEAST 3 times that amount. I bought extension on extended warranty for another 2 yrs/24k miles (96,000 miles or to Dec. 2004) for $2,200 and as of Sept 03 I had covered work done to the tune of $2,700. It was a Ford ESC warranty bought at my Audi dealer.
I was struck in early November and my car was totaled. I'm trying to get a refund for the balance of the warranty or apply it to my new A4.
