when loosening the center CV bolt. Forgot that and had to put wheel back on and drop car again to remove. I've seen the tech articles ,just wondering if anybody had other words of wisdom. I have cold beer ready for when its over.

Default Here are some pictures from when I did mine. There is a good writeup in the tech section.

$110 sounds like a pretty good deal considering the bearing is around $60.

Audi bearings are sealed, don't need to be packed at all.

Default All I can say is that when I watched ECS do my left rear, they had a hell of a time.

They used a six foot pipe on the wrench to remove the axel bolt, and then air-wrenched on the hub press for about an hour before they got it out. They seriously had 3 techs alternating on the air wrench. It was the best $200 I ever spent....

I hope yours comes easier.

Default One hour in ...ctr bolt came out with my breaker bar,no prob. Brakes off , top bolt out ..lunch time

I spent 20 minutes here looking, surfing the forum tech articles and looking at Bentley . I can't believe how easy the center bolt came free ,but I hit it with my impact for about 1 minute then grabbed my 1/2" 30 inch breaker bar, didn't even take all my weight to loosen it then I ran it out with the impact. Well ,I need a quick break, sandwich and then back at it .
