Default The CEL should go off after 5 days of cold engine starts

The code will linger without a CEL for maybe 60 engine starts.

The CEL's are stored in non-volatile memory and won't clear by disconnecting power.

Default Uh...they absolutely will clear by disconnecting the power.

I did it probably 15 times until I cleaned out my EGR passage / got a scan tool. You just have to leave it off for 20-30 minutes.

That's just straight up false.

Default Computer has been crashing recently, need to solve that. Covered this recently, I guess you havent

been keeping close enough tabs on me and my posts!!

Kidding obviously, but on serious note recently explained the situation, which is why I carefully noted which version I was using etc to avoid this type of answer..

What other systems does it (did I) reset?? Clock was only thing I noticed, my radio doesn't need code, any other things??

Throttle body adaptation is probably something that hasn't been done in years, I'm just not seeing any real downsides to the battery method, 5 inactive minutes (disconnect and leave for a few min).

Ross-tech is on the to buy list, unfortunately it is stacked just below new computer...

Default I didn't even think of using VAG to isolate which side, part of reason I haven't hacked into mine

further up the line..

I will most likely just splice both sides far up when I finally justify the time/reward ratio. No simple wiring diagram showing where the wires come out in the engine bay..? I've asked this a few times over the last... 2 years or so without much of any guidance. Seems like it'd be simple/common enough diagram.

Ah, that does sound familiar. I'll try to pay better attention. ;-)
