Default Diagnosis my creaking noises while turning

I have a 99.5 A4 2.8. Recently, i have developed a creak or clicking sounds when turning the steering wheel at low speeds, like when i pull my out of drive way. I have search the forums, some say the steering rack or tie rods.

Anything i should look for to tell if it is one or the other or is it something else?

Thanks for any help

Default does it happen from just the turning or when throttle is applied?

If just from turning you hear the creaking door sounds and getting clunks when going over bumps it is probably Tie Rod Ends & Control Arms and not CV joints.

Can you recreate the sound standing still with brakes on while turning just the wheel? Then I'd say not CV again and once again look to the Control Arms, etc.

If you accelerate and turn and hear a "clicking" probably CV joints. This is just from my experience with past cars...

Default only when turning. When i apply throttle and get moving, no noise during turning

creaking sounds only occur when i am turning the wheel like back out of my drive way or pulling out of a parking spot. After i apply some gas and the car gets moving, the sound doesn't occur.

I'm just starting to get the warning signs of them going too. I'm ordering the kit below next week and doing the work a bit later this summer...

CA Kit

Try pressing down on each corner of the car and see if you can pinpoint the sound.

sometimes it can be as simple as one of the front springs not seated perfectly on the perch.

Doh! You're right... Febi is the shizzle, it's what I have on the A4. Good price too.
