Default Cruise control replacement: Something I could do myself?

So, the cruise control has gone out on my '98.5 B5 A4 2.8 QMS about 3 times now since purchased new in '98.

Dealer is (obviously) going to charge a lot to diagnose exact problem this time (control stalk, unit under dash). If I can somewhat safely rule out that the stalk is not bad, as I had a complete control stalk replacement about 2 years ago, if it's the control module under the dash over near the glove box, how easy is it to:

a) Secure the part either through Audi dealership or 3rd party;

b) Actually take crap apart and replace said module? I have the guide book, but is this pretty complicated in regards to removing the glovebox and other things?

I've done some behind the dash stuff, but this one scares me a 'lil.

Thanks.

The cruise control computer is super easy to get to. Drop the glove box and BAM! there it is.

Default Thanks, guys. I will try this one out. What's a good source for securing a *good* CC module?

Thanks in advance.

Call Chase at A&P Auto Specialties. He always does me right on stuff I can't find at the junkyard.

Or post a note on Audifans.com<ul><li><a href="http://www.ap-specialties.com">http://www.ap-specialties.com</a</li></ul>

Thank you very much. I've bookmarked the eBay Store site and contacted them.
