Default can't recode ECU...

I have a 99.5 A4 Avant 1.8t, and it had a 559c ECU that I swapped for a 557p, but the coding shows 06051, which is front track tiptronic. I tried to recode it to 06251 but it goes back to the 06051. I checked to see if it was just not recoding anything at all, but it would let me put it to 06001, which would be front track manual.

does anyone know why i can't recode it to quattro?

Doesn't matter ... quattro is purely mechanical. That said, proper coding for US quattro 5 speed A4 is 06201
06251 is not a valid code.

Careful there. EDL is a central part of quattro.

Default Correct.

EDL, which Audi considers to be part of the Quattro system, is electronic. It's ABS.

Also 'part of the FrontTrak/ABS system' isn't it?

Can't quite as freely recode the DBC ECU's like you can the DBW ones, for big changes you need the proper software in them from the start.

Perhaps. Not sure about that. Not well versed in WWD.
