Make sure the timing belt has been changed. If not, take the replacement cost into consideration...
because you should do that the first thing after you buy the car.

i was under the impression
that the 2001 didnt have to have the timing belt done till around 80k? but since it cost around 1k to have done, might want to try and get at leasst half of that figured into the car.

Important: Make sure the Turbo is in good condition if it has one. A bad turbo can degrade the engine. In a few months your car will be a lemon. Also get a CarFax report, usually free from dealer, but get it yourself. I learned the hard way.
