The real question is, what was his mileage and service history of the belt?

Not a waste of time, but you can pretty much guarantee bent valves(especially if he was on power). Infact , you might not even be able to get a full test(compression) done, due to the fact the valves are bent and bound up between the head/guide. See the if cams will turn over a full revolution.

Default the valves are almost like paper clips in the 1.8t
