Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers - ran into a problem during install. Please help!!!!!
Hi guys,
I'm installing a set of PSS9s right now and the Bilstein instructions say that I need to use my stock Upper Sring disc for the fronts...however, the spring does not sit correctly on the rubber spring seat. Will I have to modify it by cutting it to fit the spring snug? Please let me know guys, I'm stuck. Thanks in advance.

Did this work well? I'm doing the same install now and have the same dilemma. Bilstein told me to cut it like you did, but there is the option of getting isolator bushings that fit the flat springs better. Only issue is that I'll have to wait for the shipping since I can only find them online.

Yeah actually. I ended up using a dremel to burn/shave the rubber away. I had more control with a dremel than any blade. Just put the spring on and look through the spring to see where you need to modify it. Cut slowly and keep checking the spring fitment. Once it seems nice and snug you're good. Stupid thing about the Bilstein instructions is that it tells you to use the stock cap...which is very misleading. Good luck.

Misleading indeed. A kit of this quality and price should include a top mount plate, or at least a replacement isolator (bushing).
Thanks for the quick response. I have air tools, so I think my die grinder should get the job done.
