Best place for oem shocks/springs?
I need to replace my front shocks and springs, not looking to lower the car just need them replaced.
Wheres the best place to find them? Looked at purems, avalonms, ecs and a few other places with no luck
Does anyone sell the whole assembly so I don't have to look for hardware also?

I would post to see if there is anyone who has upgraded and has a low mileage set in their garage.
I bought a used set of sport shocks and spring with less than 35Kmiles for $150 for my A4. I imagine there would be lot more stock non sport springs/ shocks available.

How many miles were on your car when you replaced original shocks?
My 1996 has 112,000 miles and there is clunking in the front that's driving me crazy - as far as I can tell it's not the control arms (lower CAs are the third set) or the tie rod ends (third set as well), so I'm thinking it's shock-related.

Mandeep ..when/ or if you do the suspension on the BMW ,keep this in mind..
I know Bilsteins are different for German car designs but consider this. In the past 3-4 months I've sold more Bilstein domestic use shocks than ever . Chevy Blazers and Trailblazers and some pickups used them .We sold about a set every two weeks compared to about about 5-6 sets the prior year. Then two weeks ago a Cobalt SS came in with aluminum Bilstein coilovers on it . The rears are a stock length Bilstein coilover but front are a custom application . The RH rear coilover had the top eye broken from it and the LH front strut had the stabilizer link bracket broken off. Is the Febi/ Bilstein quality going down hill or is this just a freak trend? The customer had us put the rear suspension back to stock with US made SACHS rear shocks today. Front bracket he had an idiot weld ,amazingly didn't explode or leak.

suspension is already on the bmw. H&R + Bilstein...
the neat thing about the bmw setup is the struts have a body they mount inside. There is actually nothing that gets tightened on the shocks, all of it is "housings" that are part of the car.
I hope i don't have the same problem :P
