Default autodim mirrors: is it possible the center has stopped reacting but sides work perfect?

no signs of liquid leak or marking on center mirror surface of physical decomposition or damage.

I can clearly see the sides gets noticeably darker but the middle still has some detail and the lights are semi-bright.

maybe the LCD sensor is functioning but the liquid inside the mirror housing has lived its life?

thanks.
