Default im actualy running a stock one from a '00 180 TT lol....

mine was shot, and i found a guy with VAG locator , nice guy named Glen in New Haven (VenTTed is handle name) and has a gorgeous black TT with custom sunrooh and a BUNCH of other stuff. anyway we found out my N75 valve was shot and he had an extra one because he had replaced his but his problem turned out to be his MAF not the N75, so he gave it to me. i think its the C version? maybe E? either way it was the same that was in my car. I think i might try out the K valve myself, i guess its not the smoothest, but oh well i want more power, i thought i was surging but it ended up just being a little bit of lag.

Default id think there are MUCH better cars for 10 grand to autocross....

miata liek someone below mentioned, a 240SX, i personaly would even look into an 89-93 mustang, for 10 grand...you can ahve crazy hp with just bolt ons, one of the sickest suspensions on the market for it, big brakes, just gut the interior, and still have money left over for a trailer n some tires. look for a notch back, not a hatch, the notch weighs 200-300 lbs lighter iirc. and with a 5.0 with not too big a cam, no low end power loss like with bigger turbos.or if you like turbos look for an older one with the 2.3L turbo I4 in it lol.
oh and how much do older 3 series beamers weigh/cost?
how about an older RX7?
there are plenty of RWD (better) options out there.

Default I've tracked my 2001 FWD and had a great time....

The wheels are hard to keep on the ground when accelerating out of turns. It handles great imho. I live in FL and don't have to worry about snow or ice, so my FWD is great for me. It is also lighter and transfers more power to the wheels than a quattro. I was actually gaining ground against a quattro with the same performance upgrades at the track event. I may have been pushing my car a little harder, but I was happy to be on his bumper after a few laps when I started way behind him.

Default with an lsd.. chip power.. and a stiff suspension you'll prefer it.. increase the power and you'll

have a tough time putting it down in really tight corners.. Even on the a regular road track.. dbw + big turbo + fwd is a little tricky.. You can push the front end out if you're too anxious..

with the 2001 you'll need an older model (~97-98)differential cover check with shokan to work with the quaiffe..
