Default Audi A4 1.8T Engine

Does anyone know where i can find a fairly cheap rebuilt 1.8t engine, need one pretty bad, my has sludge in it, has over 250,000 miles on it, and it is a 97, also i am wanting to find out what all do i need to convert it to a 5 spd transmission, thank you, any help will be appreciated

not necessarily, i'm just wanting to make it a 5 spd, i have done this on several cars that i have had, and it is a lot cheaper...to me, just wanting to find out what all will i need for this particular car

Default If you're doing all the work yourself then it can be worth it....if not....get a newer A4

i would be doing the work myself, this is a project car...the auto transmission is bad, so i want to convert it to a manual, just want to know all the parts besides, transmission, cv halfshafts, pedals, shifter linkage, ecu/ecm, stuff like that is all i need to know

salvage yards don't bother me, just people that can't help someone else out, like i was saying this is a project...not worried about how long it is going to take to fix it or the money, thank you for your help
