We take a united front. I for the life of me can't get the P0411 (SAI incorrect flow) cel to go away. I have tried everything I could think of plus a lot of the things I found in the archives or asked other members. I assume since you (modified) still have the cel you haven't been able to fix it either. A friend of mine that is an Audi tech suggested that the incorrect flow code means it's clogged somehow? I checked my combi valve and cleaned it out and that isn't clogged. I patched some holes in that ****ty plastic ribbed line that runs near the DV. I also took off and cleaned the "flow bracket" that the combi valve connects too. The holes on that were totally full of carbon; it has dime sized ports that were so clogged the holes were the same diameter as a small straw. And changed all the vac lines (twice now) just to make sure. What I am getting at is it has to be something? I know that cel doesn't affect drivability but if I ever sell it I want it off. Also (I don't have to now but) if I ever have to pass emissions again won't I fail? My readiness codes are ****ed as it is.
We all need to tear this thing apart and find out what its problem is.
Oh I have also had it at Audi before and they couldn't pin point the problem either, they suggested I replace the entire system (and even then it's not a guarantee or I might consider it.)
P0411 is the bane of the ATW. I have everything else working perfectly and it kills me a little each time it turns back on. Usually after 3 cold cycles.
-end rant-

heh, i have the code because i ripped the SAIP out. :)
when i put it back in (relocated) ill be back to normal.
your issue sounds like a fault with what should be a full and working SAI system.
questions:
-does the pump come on duriing cold start?
-is the realy and fuse for the SAIP in good working order?
-was there carbon on the SAIP side of the combi valve?
-do you have other O2 sensor codes?

I have not replaced the combi valve
-the combi valve works fine... although I have not replaced it ever I check it with a vac pump
-pump does come on durning cold starts
-I took it off (combi valve) and cleaned it all up and am now again noticing that there is a little carbon showing up again on the left side the port that points to the airbox.
-Used to have the 02 sensor code for the post cat sensor. I didn't ever change it but the code went away and the both checked out ok on a digital multimeter.

soot on the airbox side means the combi valve is shot.
but if you really want to check it, manually open it with vac on cold start and see if the code appears. you should be getting definate flow then.
the pump apparently works.
and you've manually opened the combi valve
and you have no primary O2 codes...
you shouldnt get a code.

Re: soot on the airbox side means the combi valve is shot.
I will try that test and if thats it I will acytually be pleased to buy a new one. I am so sick of that code. I check it in the past and it was good. but since then I had fixed other things that might have ben causing that cel aswell like the vac lines and holes in the larger plastic ribber line.
thanks though
I have been totally free of any other codes for months now.

Re: soot on the airbox side means the combi valve is shot.
I only got that incorrect flow alarm when my pump wasnt working and when it died. If your maf sensor wires are damaged your air pump wont work either.

Does anyone know what this would be: 16836 P0452 EVAP Emission Contr.Sys.Press.Sensor Low Input?....
