that works fine and the other intermittent, anyone ever take that little lip off the trunk lid if possible?

Start by taking the clear plastic off the light and making sure that the contacts are clean and not corroded at all. sand/scrape them down and see if that helps. also bend the tabs in to make a better contact on the bulb. (try not to snap them off) My clear lens was browned and discolored and melted, so I just replaced mine.



If it doesn't help then the next thing to do would be to take the assembly apart (this is actually more work than you think)

I would purchase the part before you take the lip apart, because if you find that you can not fix it inside, you will want to just replace it on the spot.

It is going to be trial and error checking the connections etc. otherwise I think the part was under or about 20 dollars?

yeah, i took the lens out cleaned the contacts already so i have to take it a step further.
