a lame 2.02 60', which is also my best yet. Only got 3 runs and of course my first 2 were jokes. A couple of high 14.90s with launches that I wish I had videos of for when I need a good laugh. Just popped the clutch at 3500RPM, but I did hit my shift points. On my last run, I stayed in 3rd too long, but that was my best run by far. I hit 14.967@94.33 with a 2.29 60'. Can a .27 gain in 60' time get me .48 off my ET? I'm wondering if hitting 4th gear late helped me or hurt me. No way to really know without more runs. DAMN IT! I'm getting the hang of this clutch, still.

I saw a gorgeous E30 3-something coupe, that BMW gray, with an M3 3.0L motor. It had a cam and tuning, did a 13.2. I don't know if that was his best, though. I asked him what he wanted for it, but he wasn't selling and said he had put too much into it (I hear that). He has an old M5 motor and a turbo at home that he had planned to put on. A guy in an E55 did 12.8 (stock, street tires). Those AMG cars are nuts. I ran into a guy with an A6 2.7T chipped who I met back in May there. He's run 13.5 consistently before, but couldn't get under 14.0 tonight. It was cool, but still pretty humid. No excuses, I suck at launching. And the weight was 3354 with me in it. Need less weight.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, October 21. 15th annual VW/Audi Show & Go at Englishtown Raceway Park. Be there, be there, be there.

Default Yes it can. What you drop off your 60 ft can drop as much as double at the 1/4 ET.

3500 rpm launch? That would be too low for even a K03.

Default lol, I was launching harder on the 170k old OEM clutch. I need 5 runs without long breaks

it was busy there tonight and somebody had a fluid leak down the track, so that made it drag.

Default mid 14's is about average for a k04 isnt it? Nice to see your clutch is broken in..i

I've just started launching with mine as well - about 4000rpm on the upswing gives a little chirp of all 4 tires and its off! so fun

Default yeah, it is, but I should be in the low 14s. I've run 14.58 in 83F with the stock clutch

now I have lighter wheels and removed the belt driven fan. I need to get my 60' times down to 1.8s. I just want to hit 13s once.

Default I'd be happy with that with a K04. sounds as if, with better launching, you should be low 14s.

your car is ~50 lbs lighter than mine, which could be just my fata55. mine was 3402 (I'm 180).

Oct 21st sounds like fun, if we get more than just 3 runs. wait, I'll already be at Etown for something else

Default "that made it drag" Did you really say that?

same thing happened the other wed night that starting... and I went. We almost didn't get a 3rd run, which, for me, was a waste anyway since I too need to learn how to launch. And, I agree with you -- you need 3-5 runs back-to-back to get better.

Default Is this your dd?

Those are decent runs regardless. This is going to sound kind of stupid, but I used to go out to the country roads with my motorcycle to practice launches and "stuff". I don't know how available those kinds of roads are to you, but it's much better than dropping money at the track for only 3 runs. You could informally measure out a 1/4mi and stopwatch it if you're concerned about times, but just for practicing launches it'd be fine. Just a suggestion. But don't get too down about those times, because they're decent.
