It also appears AWM's have another option if wanting to go 2.0 aside from the EuroSpec crank.

Oh yeah I'm thinking about it again. But I know 1.9L would be easier and up and running sooner.

They certainly could write a custom tune from what Tony and I have discussed...
I am not sure if I will go 2.0 even after I found it may be much easier and lest costly then grabbing the ES crank, but at least if other AWM owners are interested I can pass the info on. I like the idea of minimal honing and boring to 81.5 more than boring to 83.5mm. To many friggin choices right now it's driving me crazy.

You are exactly right about the boring, the area between cylinders is a weak point in the cars the
European tuners I talked to said that the engines that had large overbores would fail in the web between cylinders, apparently there was no was way to deal with the heat of hi boost without the material that was removed. Granted they were talking about GT35-40 size turbos pushing a lot of pressure and flow, but the word was that if they get real hot failure isnt far behind. Tim and I have checked it out and think we can do cylinder sleeves, but this would be a fairly hi dollar undertaking that would have a small market. I just dont think many woul buy it. Anyway way off track, but it is my opinion that you should leave all the material you can between the bores. Did you check out the diesel crank options? They are generally heavier and always stronger. If the weight bothers it is easy to remove considrable material if balancing the rotating mass which id always recomended.
If you want, I can tell you a way to get 2.1 but it is pretty much on the edge from the start.

You'r evil:)
I think I am going to go no larger than 81.5, go with 20mm wrist pins, 8.5:1 compression with je pistons, leave head 100% oem, fab my intake and charge pipe for the fmic, 3" custom exhaust, add a nipple to the charge pipe from compressor for ebc and call it a day until i grab a 3076 I want a daily/track slutable not stripable A4 and I want it yesterday. I will throw the money saved at BBK, h20/meth and the fabbing I mentioned above.

I'm not 100% up to snuff with your setup...
You're running a AWM stroker with a AEB head? Aside from the EuroSpec crank the only other option is the AEG from what I gather. Did you go to 1.9 and then 2.0? I can't imagine me being unhappy going 1.9, doing cams and keeping the head stock. I've not heard to many things in regards to head issues.
