Default Alright...

Raise of hands who've lost their job due to the "economy".

*raises hand*

As of the end of January, I was no longer deemed needed by the dealership. And to add some fun to it, my kid is due in just a couple weeks.

Ah, unemployed, educated, and baby on the way. The American dream.

Default Sorry to hear that. One of my in-laws just got axed recently too.

Never been there myself, but I was working on a specific contract that the company lost, and we all we "strongly urged" to consider other employment. It's not a nice feeling.

Do not let it get to you. Find another job and get on with you life.

Default I'm not terribly worried. I've got enough income saved to last me

until the end of March, at least.

Never the less, I need to get back into IT again. The car business is doomed, even more so if it's a GM dealership like I worked at.

Default Apply for unemployment and look for a temp under the table job

Computer repairs? One of my friends recently started a small business with other computer guys setting up web business sites. Some inventory companies start at about $15 hr. Just a few ideas.

Repair biz should be strong. Put out a sign of your own!
