Raise of hands who've lost their job due to the "economy".

As of the end of January, I was no longer deemed needed by the dealership. And to add some fun to it, my kid is due in just a couple weeks.
Ah, unemployed, educated, and baby on the way. The American dream.

Sorry to hear that. One of my in-laws just got axed recently too.
Never been there myself, but I was working on a specific contract that the company lost, and we all we "strongly urged" to consider other employment. It's not a nice feeling.
Do not let it get to you. Find another job and get on with you life.

Never the less, I need to get back into IT again. The car business is doomed, even more so if it's a GM dealership like I worked at.
