Default AEB Misfire

I have a 1.8T AEB engine. Ran vagcom and told me I have a Cylinder 2 misfire.

Changed the plugs, and the valve cover gasket... Cylinder 2 Misfire.

Switch Coil pack 2 with Coil pack 1... Cylinder 2 Misfire...

I'm not very familiar with an AEB engine and I know they have an ICM (Ignition Control Module) on top of the airbox.

Could this be the culprit of this misfire (or not firing at all) error?

Note: After changing the Valve cover gasket and the plugs, it misfired right away. I had past experience that if oil is leaking thru a cylinder, it would take some time before it will start misfiring again.

Thanks in advance for your time!

I'd say 95% it's the ICM. They like to fail on cylinder 2. Get the Huco replacement, it's cheaper. Use thermal grease when you install it.

Thanks for the quick reply Edwardo,

I called ECS tuning since they carry both Bosch and the Huco ICM. They told me that since I have the Bosch, I should get the Bosch and the Huco will not work.

True or False?

I've never heard of that being the case. My car had the Huco on it when I got it, but I'm not sure if it was previously replaced. I assumed they all came with Bosch from the factory. If you search, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people on here who have gone from Bosch to Huco. It's not like it's a complicated part electrically.

Count me for the Bosch to Huco conversion. ICM can be tested with a multimeter. And I soldered the Bosch back, so now I have an emergency spare.
