a4 to s4 swap possible?
A friend of mine just wrecked his 2000 2.7 bi-turbo s4 and he asked if i wanted it. which got me wondering how difficult it would be to do and what possible problems i could run into if it is even possible. thanks for any help. o and if you couldn't figure it out i have a 1996 2.8l a4 quattro.

don't even bother....
the amount of work that has to be done is insane. Transmission/running gear/motor/wiring/instrument cluster/ etc etc etc
cheaper just to sell both cars, take the money and buy an s4

Of course it's possible, and since you'd have the full donor car, it would be...
just hugely time consuming. I've been batting around the idea of finding a wrecked A6`2.7t and swapping the motor/trans into my Avant..

motor, trans, rear diff, ecu, wiring, bumper, etc.
not to mention you'd want the S4 brakes too if you still have stock ones... which would mean swapping over the hubs. Then you still have the 12-year-old interior of your A4, so you'd want to swap that over.
sound like fun yet? There's a 2000 S4 here locally for <$10k with new turbos, coilovers, ecodes, tbelt. 89k miles.
so, does the swap still sound worth it?
