Hi everyone, long time reader first time poster.
Have an issue with the car not starting.

It failed to start the other day but after pressing on the gas while cranking it started eventually.
Today im out of luck, not matter what im trying still wont start.
It doesnt crank and it seems like it might start but never gets there.

After reading up on common issues this is what I have done thus far. Im not a mechanic but a DIY guy.

Checked battery voltage (over 12.5v+)
Checked fuses, fuel pump, control unit are fine.
Checked fuel pump relay under steering wheel, cleaned the contacts but still no go.
Checked voltage of fuel pump and control unit fuse, roughly 3.5v+ volts with ignition on and over 9v+ when cranking.
Checked voltage of fuel pump connector, 3.5v+. Didnt test when cranking yet.

One thing I noticed is that there is no longer that fuel pump engaging sound when turning the ignition.
Took a 9v battery and try to manually start the fuel pump but nothing. Am i connecting to the right contacts? (the outer ones, that connect to the green/yellow and the across from that the brown)
Also tried using a 12v source but still no go, doesnt seem to turn on. Im thinking its the fuel pump.

There was nothing new with the codes through the ODBII reader, had P0411 code only which was on before and the car was running great.

When connecting the VAG tool i got the following.

Has anyone experienced this? I would appreciate your suggestions on next steps.

Provided you are using a good 12v supply to try and power up the fuel pump, there is no reason it should not run, other than it is faulty. You should be going across the 2 thicker wires on the connector, or try directly onto the pin contacts with the connector unplugged.

Hi, I tried already but not 100% sure that im connecting it properly. I putting positive to the pin which connects to the green yellow wire. Is the brown next to it the ground, or the one across from it?

Would this be a reason why I got all those codes?

The thicker brown wire will be the earth/ ground for the pump. The other 2 wires will be for the fuel tank level sender, for the gauge. Make sure you go across the 2 larger pins.The injector faults are prob due to them being, disabled by the ecu, when the pump was unplugged for testing. The others I can't say for sure but would erase them and monitor them. If you can't get the pump to run, it's def faulty. Especially if you can't hear it priming when the ignition is turned on.

Just finished manually testing the pump again, properly, this time it turned on. So this shows the pump is fine right?
Plugging the connector back in and turning the ignition and cranking I can hear the pump doing something.
I checked the fuel pump relay and when I put my fingers on it does click when turning ignition.
Car still doesnt start, not sure what else I should check.

Yeah sounds like the pump works but are you actually getting fuel to the injectors ? I would remove the fuel supply hose to them and confirm. If fuel is being delivered when cranking, then next check for a spark.

Hi, do you mean just remove the fuel supply hose that is going to the rail, place it in some bucket and then try cranking or remove all injectors and crank then?

Just remove the supply hose, not the injectors, you just need to confirm fuel is getting to the engine.

Hi, I disconnected the fuel supply hose, cranked it and there is fuel coming out. So I guess fuel is not the issue.
Next I will check for spark.

Anything else besides that for now?

Also after removing the spark plugs i see they are wet from fuel.
