Default How long would it take to replace a front left wheel bearing 2001 Audi a4 Quattro ?

I've been hearing a humming noise when going atleast 25mph when making a slight right turn. Like turning on a curve. No noise when turning left, and no noise when making a sharp right turn, or going straight. Just slight turns. After looking things up, the only answer I'm getting is that I need to replace the bearing. It's been going for like 3 months, because I've been saving up some money because it's been a little tight on cash for me lately. The shop I'm going to charges 90per hour for labor. I just need to kno ASAP I can't go to the shop until a few days because of my schedule.

What exactly are you asking? If you want a quote, ask your shop for one. Get several quotes if you are not going to do any of the job yourself. When I had my bearings changed, I bought the bearings, took the suspension castings out, and then took them to the auto machine shop. I think they charged me $40 to press out the old and press in the new bearing.

Same here - removed the hubs myself, bought some SKF bearings (don't remember cost, $40 or $50 ea I suppose), and had them pressed.
I reckon the jobs worth 1-2 hours labour per side, but thats a pure guestimate....

Time is on your side. A failing bearing will start by making noise in turns and progress to making noise all the time. Save up some cash and explore the various repair options.
