2000 A4 2.8Q Service Manual -- Rear Wheel Bearings -DIY
Looking for the PDF version, of this now ancient Audi. Many links I find on the internet are long since dead. Does anyone have the service manual in PDF form? Any links would be very helpful.
Rear Wheel Bearing are going out 125K miles. Is this a DIY project. Pretty handy with wrenches. Brakes and rotor work no problem....this is just another few steps further into it -- a few more new tools-- but is this a larger issue for a true mechanic?
Will be replacing rear rotors and pads along with the Bearing.
Any advice, links, tips, DIY instructions/videos etc would be greatly appreciated.

The bearings are pressed into the knuckle, which will either require something like the factory tool, or a hub shark, or hub tamer, or the like. OR.. you can take the whole upright off of the car and use an upright press..
I've honestly never bothered getting a press, it's just one of those things I choose to have a shop do.

Thanks for your reply Kris --
I live across the street from a CNC machine shop - I have a feeling they would press it out and install the new one for free.
One question the 2.8Q rear rotors -- I'm a bit confused are they a rotor and a hub - I installed some EBC rotors on the front a few months ago, but throughout my research I'm finding that the Rear rotor may also be a rotor/hub combination. I looked at EBC but their photos make it look like a plate rotor without the Hub. Still searching for the service manual to take a closer look at the diagram explosions.
Beautiful R8 By the way...

Any machine shop in town will press that bearing in and out. Just remove the entire kuckle. There really are no tips if your doing that. Remove axle bolt (Heat may be required) Remove the caliper w/ bracket which is 2 bolts, remove the Rear "tie rod" Remove the upper arm bolt, mark in a few spots the eccentric for the alignment on the very bottom, and then remove. Dont forget ABS sensor. And then haul it off to your machine shop. Nice basic rear end design, Same as the Audi 90

Thanks for the feedback. The more I look into it, the more confident I am if I take my time it should not be a problem, it looks pretty straight forward.
Again, the machine shop across the street from my driveway are good friends - so I'm sure I can get the bearing pressed without much trouble.
I will be doing both sides -- If one side is going out-- the other has to be right behind it.
New Rotors, New Pads, new Bearings...lots of wrenching, lots of fun. I will try to document it and post some photos and a write up.
This will probably be sometime next month-- this month is already gone.
