Hi all,

I need help on this. I drove 500k, stop and shut of the car to get gas, Jumped back in the car and won't start. I waited 2hrs(engine cooled down) and it started, drove about 200k. Shut it off and now won't start at all. I have no access to VAG tool at the moment.

Things have checked and noticed.

1. Fuel pump is working, disconnected fuel regulator and gas spilled out when ignition was turned on.

2. Notice 3 peeps while cranking and temp and oil lights blinking.

3. Bought new battery. (This reseted the ECU)

4. Reconnected most of the connectors visible.

5. There seems to be no sparks coming.

Please help, any ideas. I need to get back home for christmass.

Unfortunately it sounds like either your temp sensor or crank position sensor has died. CPS is more likely. It's on the back of the block on the drivers side. You could remove it and clean it and it might work.

CTS tends to cause hard starts when warm, but that doesn't cause lack of spark.
