Intermittent Airplay connection problems is a known issue mentioned in other threads, it connects but sometimes you get a blank screen. You can still skip music using the steering wheel controls or the **** on the console, so Airplay is connected

For me it happens about every 1 in 4 times and is quite annoying, The workaround is to toggle Wi-Fi off and on the phone and it will then connect and show the screen.

I mostly keep my phone in my left pocket and there are no issues with the actual Wi-Fi connection just the blank screen sometimes

I have an '18 so my CarPlay is wired, but I sometimes have issues. The head service writer at my Dealer is solid, but when I first complained about some issues, he told me my phone likley needs an update. That sounded like BS to me, but lo and behold, there was an new update out for my phone which solved the issue. 80% of the time, whenever there is some bugginess with CarPlay functionality, it's, my phone and not the MMI.... Not sure if that completely applies to your specific issue, but after a phone reboot, that's the next thing I check.

Our dealer says that half the Audi sold have the car play issues. I purchased the car July 2022 and dealer says no updates. We had two BMW loaners and both had updates available. VW and Porsche have the same issues?

FWIW I'm convinced the issue is with CarPlay itself and not vehicle specific. All the issues I experience in my Audi, we also experience in our other car and any time I rent a car with CarPlay, I eventually also have issues.
