after reading through Vortex over the past weekend (buying my exhaust system next week) i was intrested in buying the 3" GHL exhaust. well unfortuantly i came accross an article talking about just this system. and if you see the picture above you understand that this system is a rip-off. the catback part of this system "claims" to be 3" but it really is only 2.5" which takes away a significant horsepower gain taht can be obtained from a full 3" system.

hell hath no fury like the vortex R32 forum's scorn.

"the catback part of this system "claims" to be 3" but it really is only 2.5" which takes away a significant horsepower gain taht can be obtained from a full 3" system."

Better check the facts first. A 3" kills the torque and doesn't give much HP on top. On an A3 the larger pipe actually works worse than a 2.5" because of the power it takes to push the exhaust air mass down the pipe. That's why they call them "tuned" exhausts.

I won't buy any 'perfromance' parts unless somebody can show me the pulls and prove it works.
