I never liked the chrome/silver lip on a non-silver wheel face. But I think it works very well on this A3. I also feel that this color wheel would match the lava gray color pretty well.
Your thoughts?

I like this wheel a lot too. Perfect fit for the car. Not in love with the front skirt though. But overall, I dig the car.

the infamous bolts that make a lowered A3 "rub"
<img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/JaminBen1/7726f617.jpg">
I removed all of them and have had no issues with 10k miles. You can replace them with a low profile bolt/screw. But I haven't had the need yet.
<img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/JaminBen1/Auxerre055.jpg">
Here you can see what an 8" wheel with a 45 offset looks like^
18x8" ET 45 wheels, with 225/40/18 tires, lowered approx 40mm from standard. No rubbing now, the only mod being to remove the screw I'm pointing at in the pic below, and folding back the metal tab to which it attaches.
The above photos+text are from Ben in France.
- Ben. His specs:
3dr Audi A3 3.2 Quattro MT6 - KW V3 - GenII HPP - VF Engineering mounts - AmD - Milltek - bmc panel filter and homemade CAI - DieselGeek Ultra - Nspd RS-6 8x18 w/ PS2s - CG-Lock - Ross-Tech - ///FT450 on its way...
Bens offset is probably most common with aftermarket rims, IMO. 45.
Here is a photo of my 42 offset.
18x8 225/40/18"
Dropped a bit less than Ben. But as you can see, my offset has the wheels lined up with the fenders, pretty aggressively. I like this look a lot. But may end up getting et45 b/c of availability.

I agree. I just did mirrors and they helped brighten up the lava gray exterior.

R32 aluminum paddles for DSG owners
<center><img src="http://hitechgti.50megs.com/audi/paddles/paddles17.jpg"></center><p>
how sick would these be!!!!! longer shape. reachable from top and bottom like ferrari.
but don't get your hopes up. I checked these out last year. Very expensive to import.
If someone feels inclined. Please check with a broker or two. maybe pricing came down.
