Re: Thats what people keep telling me - still pissed off!!
I did not think so at the time.... so pissed off.
Fortunatley a traffic jam led me off my normal high speed route home, trundling through country lanes, wishbone went when I was doing about 30mph.
In hindsight a traffic jam probably saved my skin.
Hope it's not a design issue - could be a nightmare all those TT's, A3's, Golf's, Skoda etc..

Re: Tell me what they find out about the cause. I'm a TT owner but still interested.
the cause is the bottom suspension arm craking and breaking where it pivots on the rear hub carier resulting in fold up jim bond style wheels

Re: Vorsprung Buggered / DANGER PLEASE LOOK ! MK1 2000TT
Hello There - Ive just had this problem on my MK1 TT - Im in the UK and looking at the problem this has happened alot before - On the pictures on the UK site Im registered to the lower control arm has snapped in EXACTLY the same place.
To be honest Im very lucky to be alive having just pulled off of the motorway.
I am CERTAINB this has already caused many accidents and Audi must listen immediatly.
I am building up a file and Tomorrow going to take some pictures of the car and damage.
Does anyone have any further info ?
Look at the following links

This is VERY serious guys so be careful.
Have them checked now!
