Default I would prefer to see "actual" Audi-specific side-by-side and I'm sure most would agree.

I know its a PITA and I understand if its too much hassle. But I'll extend the offer to any M1/Redline user with roughly equal mileage and similar climates.

Default Mmm, French oil

Motul makes excellent lubes. Interesting that there are quite a few gear oils that are rated GL-4 and GL-5.

Default Probably Blackstone labs

The question is, what size particle does oil analysis show, which does it miss? When I drained my OEM fluid, I had lots of particles (1mm flakes, similar to glitter)in the fluid, big enough to probably not being counted by UOA. I suppose an oil chemist can tell which particles and elements can be attributed to yellow metal corrosion. I'll ask the oil guys how to best compare two oils in two cars.

Default How about this?

I'm waiting for the slippery fellas to give me some feedback on this proposal:<ul><li><a href="http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&amp;f=16&amp;t=001571 #000000">specific GL-4/GL-5 test and comparison proposal</a></li></ul>

Default I can hear it now... Objective people: "Great idea! Will be nice to finally know"...

People who have said GL5 is safe: "Complete waste of money and the results will be skewed/unreliable due to final rinse phase of Auto-RX in one engine and current air dispersion index manifested due to and aggrivated by a profound failure to listen."

Hey Mori, interesting tidbit. I tried to join BITOG last night. And it said "your account has been deleted due to TOS violations."

Now here's the kicker. I've never joined that group or even applied before last night. The "only" way they could even know my screenname is because of a link to 12V Development forum listing me as the person who was/is showing no benefit from ARX. Those guys are AMAZING!!
