Default Performance improvements 2004 S4

Car has 32000 miles. 6sp. What can I do to increase performance without MAJOR work, i.e money and engine/tranny life?

Default Chip it yet?

Not much out there for the 4.2's..You can chip it, get a little bit better throttle response, few ponies..

Better flowing exhaust maybe..

That's what I've heard. Seems chipping does even less than improved exhaust (not to mention the ancillary music!).
Any recommendations on exhaust? costs?

Default Milltek - Fullback for the 2004 S4 - then add H-Sport sways

Terrific sound, extra power and aesthetically a better look than stock.

This full back system was $1,700 installed, taxes in, here in Toronto.

Labree is another exhaust of choice from what I read here on AW.

Milltek is British.

H-Sport sways (less than a grand installed front and back) are also recommended before chipping....

Default We have a few items to enhance your performance needs

You can start by getting an exhaust system for your car. We carry Milltek systems in resonated and non resonated.

Here is a video clip of Greg's full Milltek exhaust resonated.

Next you can get the downpipes and cats to eliminate more restriction.

For extra more power and response an intake is available also. This is our inhouse design Hyperflow.

Lastly an O.CT chip would no doubt benefit in your quest for performance!

I have logs from Greg's B6 S4 and as well as my B7 S4 that has all of the following parts listed on top.

If you have any questions I will be more than happy to help you!

Why doesn't stratmoshpere make an intake like that for the C5 4.2?

I have an '03, A6 4.2. and while I know there are not many mods possible for this, what would the full exhaust entail and what truly might it produce?

Agreed, Labree sounds more Euro, Milltek seems more American Muscle
