Default To chip or not to chip?!?

Hi all,

My 4.2 A6 Sports has an RS6 exhaust and a few other addons already fitted. What I'm wondering is whether to have it chipped or not.
Can any of you guys with experience with this drop me any thoughts or advice please?

Also I'm close to LA so who would be the best company to approach about getting this done?

Thanks in advance.

Default GIAC will give you better throttle response and remove the limiter

Its not cheap but worth it for the throttle-ability!

dont mean to thread jack or anything, but do you have any idea if that can be done for a 2000 akb 4.2 in an A8L?

Default Best contact GIAC for specifics on an A8

I'm not well versed in how many applications it has - learned about it here and ordered it through a tuning dealer ...

Well....I have a 98' A8 and it is chipped, the chip is from ABT as I understand it, I say this because it was in the car when I bought it. The only thing I noticed about the chip that I don't like, is the trip tronic, the trip tronic seems to not want to hold in 3 and instead goes directly into 4th. Annoying when rallying with your friends, but other than that I would recommend!!

98' A8
H&R coilovers (a must!)
K&N filter
ABT chip

Hi guys,

Just come back to this thread after spending some time outta town.
Thanks so much for all the advice and words of wisdom. I'll contact GIAC and ask them about the car specifically and let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

GM
