I have a 2003 a6 with the 3.0 v6.
Does anyone know if the audi 4.2 v8 will fit in my car's engine bay? Any other info regarding this matter would be helpful. Thanks

In addition to the engine, you would need to change: -the transmission, fenders, hood, front clip, sideskirts, front and rear bumpers, firewall(s), steering rack (IIRC,) etc. If you want a V8 A6, you will need to go out and buy one. The conversion would cost more than a used 4.2 A6....believe me.

He's right on the spot. Slightly larger front end on 4.2. The difference in price of the 2 is now only about 4K on a trade.
