Default 2004 A4 3.0 v6

Hi all. I was hoping that someone could clear up some information that was given to me. I was told by an "Audi guy" that my 3.0 will not go any faster than stock no matter how much power I put through it naturally aspirated. The only way for me to get my car to get up and go is to put a supercharger on it. Getting more into detail, the guy told me that it's due to my valve timing and that the engine will throttle back if I attempt to modify it. Can someone drop me some info, I have a feeling that the information I was given may not be entirely accurate. Thanks!

Default I can tell you that my intake (perhaps with the help of the exhaust) gives me noticeable gain...

Feel free to take a look at my sig on the VAG-logs I've done pre- and post-installation. I have no idea what he means by "the engine will throttle back": I've tested on the dyno that the ECU is capable of advancing timing to give some small gain when using 93 octane gas compared to 91. As well, a chip can give you a bit more power, but obviously it wouldn't be as drastic a bump as a turbo car.

Default Let me clarify

The Audi Guy owned a performance shop (one which will remain nameless) and said that no matter how many mods I do (considering that it isn't a supercharger), my horsepower may increase, but the speed of my vehicle / acceleration will not (increase). Does your vehicle seem faster? Or just sportier with the mods you have?

Default I'm not sure that makes much sense...

If the amount of horsepower is increased, your top speed will increase if it's peaked at the same location, and accelerate more quickly at rpms where there is more power...

While not instrumented, the intake in particular gives me more acceleration.

Default I've done everything (including s/c) and

other mods are not worth it. I'd say either be happy with the 3.slow or s/c it. once s/c'd, you'll get small gains with cat-back, but not before.

Default im wuth akula

that makes no sense just to put it into view i had a 3500 pound vehicle with 250hp and a 5500pound vehicle with 410hp same drive line to the tire size and the 5500 pound car ran 13s and the 3500 pound car ran 16s thats a three second gain with almost twice the weight!
