I want to install a 2.7t into a 1975 porsche 914.

I'll be using the Audi 012 5 speed (front wheel drive) transmission (re-located to the rear).

I live in California and although the car (due to age) does not require smog checks, I want to make the swap as legal as possible. This rules out using the 034 stand-alone ECU.

I plan on buying a complete car for the engine and smog related items needed.

That all leads to the question as to what items are required to have the ECU system function without giving error codes.
