Default Timing Belt on 2.7T

alright, my dad has an 01 allroad with the 2.7T engine. he has about 80K miles on it, and knows the TB needs doing, but he isnt getting moving quickly about it.

If the TB broke on the 2.7T, would it ruin the engine?

I need conformation to get him up and get it replaced.

Thanks!

Default Yes!

It sure would. My mechanic said $6000 to fix an engine after the timing belt snaps. I got mine replaced when I bought the car at 82k. try searching for "interference engine" on this or the allroad forum.

I am looking at a 2001 allroad with 73000 miles on it. When should the timing belt be done?
