OEM tears. If you chip your car most likely you will have to replace very soon

Default I think people are thinking back to the OEM DV from the 1.8T and 2.7T that had issues when..

running higher than stock boost levels. The 2.0T DV is a different animal. There was a writeup on VW Vortex that has some good imperical data that shows the OEM to outperform the Forge. The OEM lasted 16K miles and the author fells the performance is worth the 16K mile interval on the OEM unit. I myself am debating as to whether to get the Forge or keep the OEM on my upcoming stage II insatll on an '08 Audi A3 2.0T S-Line. Check out the article. Pretty involved and not easy reading.

OEM vs Forge DV testing results

Default Forge will always try to sell you something.

Truth is, I got flamed for that article, but oddly enough, a year after posting that, people are having the exact same issues I mentioned would happen.

1) sticking DVs due to poor lubrication
2) melting O-rings
3) slower boost response due to the above
4) forge secretly pushed a home-made "DV spike fix" through another member, which does not work

At the end of the day, I'm not making a dime off of anything, yet they continue to sell product and claim that I have ulterior motives. I guess the amount of forge DVs that are for sale in classifieds is a better indicator of how well their product works.
