Default Turbo Upgrade

What turbo upgrade can i get to where i have close to 300whp? I am not trying to spend a whole lot of money, and i don't wanna replace a lot of stuff, just a nice upgrade in power. I understand that 350whp is the most you should go with stock internals so... i figure 300whp would be about right. Also not sure if I'd have it retune the GIAC X software, mine was a flashloader app. thanks

Default Uh... 300whp and not spending $s are inversely related...

The big turbo is going to set you back some major $s. Then again, your idea of not spendingmuch might be different than mine.

Well i've heard a few talk about the k04-20 (for my TT) and even the Garrett GT28RS ... They say that you basically just do some basics like Fuel pump, higher CC fuel injectors and such, i just want to avoid have to rebuild the block or anything. I have GIAC X right now, already have 220 ib-ft. Torque, and 190whp. but the car is running lean. I believe it will be fixed after the pre cat o2 install (brand new part) so...

Default I have the GT28rs set up on my 1.8t for a long time now. Here are some facts

First- The overall kit to buy turbo and basic hardware, (including software) is around $2600. I like the Revo software with the SPS 3 so you can adjust your boost and timing. If your going to get the desired HP you will need a FMIC and turn up the boost and timing. Kit comes with 440cc injectors and a high flow exhaust manifold. Either getting rid of the cat or getting a high flow cat farther down stream will be required, (in my opinion).
If you have a man. tranny. Prepare for an upgraded clutch. Always run at least 93 octane too.
I have over 104k on my car and running well. I'm running around 300 HP and have a tip tranny.
If your looking at 300+ wheel HP you will most likely be looking running racing fuel and having the wick turned up pretty much on both boost and timing. I run 23 psi day in and out. Timing makes HP and high octane will keep you from detination. Numbers of around $5,000 +/- are correct.
