    Yep, known failure on these. The guys on the S-car forum have seen it time and time again.

    Reminds me I need to replace the oil temp switch (leaking slightly) on my 20v as well as the pressure switch.

    Same complacency thing happened to me about 15 minutes ago. Alternator belt keeps making noise. I replaced with a good Contitech. It recently got cold and started doing the same thing. I tightened it down again with the proper deflection (2mm) and it does it this morning. Argh!!! I go out there just a bit ago and go to loosen one of the bolts the Bentley calls for to see that it's already only finger tight. I thought I checked all the bolts! Hopefully this round gets it! I like the 20v over the 12v on a lot of things. This isn't one of them though! V-belts and crappy manual tensioning is not my thing. Too tight and you put strain on the bearings of the p/s pump and alternator, too loose and it squeels, slips, etc. I like the auto tensioner of my 12v with the serpentine belt. Set it and forget it! The 12v has the 20v licked on this one.
