Default Tuning AAH - input needed.

Im about to start to tune a AAH engine and will actually on sunday pickup a complete used engine that I got my hands very cheap; and I also have a additional set of cylinderheads for additional testing if needed.
My plan is to fit new (larger) pistons and rods, to increase volume a bit aswell, and which should be a bit more durable if I decide to nos' da baby aswell as the target rpm.
The cylinder head will ofcource be ported and I plan to rebuild it to use mechanical lifters instead of the stock hydraulic.
Of cource i will have to modify intake tb if I decide to keep the stock intake manifold.
Further up ahead i will have to install an aftermarket engine management system, so I can tune it myself and also get rid of the air mass meter.

Now the questions;

Whats the opinion/experience as far as durability of the cylinder head gasket?

How effective is the stock intake manifold? - is it worth replacing it ? Six open intake runners can look kinda sexy :+)

Where are the known weak spots of the AAH engine?

Im not willing to go as far as putting in a drysump system thou, I already have another engine with that... (none AAH/V6)

I will not do this overnight, its a longterm project and I do have a separate engine to do this tuning on.
