Default long as you don't compromise the sharp intersecting angles at the waistline you should be fine....

that is the most critical point as it defines the angles ahead of and behind it.

Default Yeah, I left that trailing edge at the waistline intact on my MAF

There was no way that this edge was there due to sloppy manfacturing or casting

Default Will this one be capable of converting to S3 later on?

If so, I want one of these now.

Default *Thread Jack* I just measured my snub mount post...

it's 1.187" in diameter.

Let me know how that compares to the 2.8

Thanks.

Default Where exactly are the tapers?

I thought they were the same diameter all the way through, but I haven't looked at mine very closely.

Default There's an edge a little less than 1.5" from the end of the MAF housing

It looks like a small step. From there, the MAF housing widens gradually to a considerably larger diameter.

Default I'm not talking about that "step"...

I'm referring to the fact that the I.D. of the center of the MAF housing is less than the I.D. at either end of the MAF housing. I didn't get rid of my step, only thinned-out the center to match the circumference of the rest of the housing. So confusing to explain.
