Default attn miktip or jrenthal help please

Hey all,
my themo light started flashing/beeping at me and my gas milage went to hell.. I have STFA, I guess I am a little dense but I could not find much.. Any help or advise would be cool.. This sucks considering I have a 60mile commute to/from work.. Help on this..
Also I am looking for advise on the "best" tire for autocross esque driving conditions..
I live where there are some SWEET mountain roads that have little to no traffic and the tires I have now(conti spt contact 2) slip like a mother.. Any help..
Thanks guys
Please help.

Default Where's the temp gauge? The light comes on for two reasons.

Car is really overheating in which case its serious. The level sensor in the coolant reservoir is messed up not serious and a cheap fix.

Default Attn. Audimick

How would you suggest I determine which is which...The temp gauge inside is fine almost straight up and down a little to the left of the center hash.. Where it has always been..Thanks man..

Default Then you are not overheating, the float sensor in the coolanr reservoir is the problem.

There are two wires that plug into the bottom of the reservoir. Unplug it and see what happens. You may get a permanent flashing light.Short the wires in the plug with a paper clip to see if the problem goes away.
