Default yellow engine light

hello peeps, am gettin the code p0118, which means coolant temp sensor.. , thoes anybody know were is that part?? i have a 1.8t 2002 , was lookin for the sensor but couldnt find it...thx edwin

Default code p1296

thanks for the info, i replaced the sensor now am getting another code which is p1296 , do u know what the problem is?? by the way when i start the engine for some reason the fan will go crazy and would stay on.. even tho the engine is cooled...

seval possibly issues for this fault. 1. your ect, back of the cylinder head if it's not green you need to replace it. the green sensor is the updated part. 2. a stuck open t-stat. an engine not warming up withing the specified range will set this fault.3 a water pump impeller that has seperated from the shaft. the impeller is plastic and the shaft is metal, pretty common.
