i have a stock 2004 a4 1.8t and when i shift into a gear and give it more than half throttle it doesnt boost! if i shift and ease into the throttle it boosts fine! i notice it mostly in 3rd and 4th gears! is this how the car is set up to run or is there an issue that i need to have adressed?? someone told me it could be a diverter valve issue...is that good info or not im not sure? id appreciate your guys help!

Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)

sounds like a classic boost leak. check all the hoses and clamps between the maf and the throttle body.
